Mission
The Center is committed to protect the Filipino from poisoning through the promotion of chemical and pharmaceutical safety. The Center shall provide adequate training in toxicology and optimum management of poisoning cases.

Case Study of the Month


Jewellery cleaner poisoning
T.F., 5 years old, female, accidentally ingested about 10 ml of jewellery cleaner she found in her mother's bedroom. She was brought to the ER within two hours of ingestion, awake, sleepy, with a heart rate of 90/min and RR of 22/min. Her BP was 85/55. Nailbeds were dusky.

While at the ER, she had two episodes of generalized tonic-clonic seizures lasting 30 seconds. She complained of dizziness and headache.
